When it comes to reality tv, the cast of The Real Housewives of Orange County knows a thing or two about drama. Season after season, it seems like no matter how hard these ladies try to keep it classy, they always end up in the middle of several very vicious (and usually pretty hilarious) cat fights. Well, as the show continues on, and old arguments continue to fester, things don’t show any sign of cooling down soon. With the 10th season drawing to a close, the ladies of Beverly Hills have given their viewers another interesting season. In fact, it might just be the most entertaining yet, and it gives viewers a lot to look forward to for next season. Here are 10 things we learned from this season’s Real Housewives of Orange County.
No one is safe
Every season new alliances form, and every season they’re broken. No matter how close these housewives get, they can’t seem to keep it together for an entire season. This season viewers saw old and new friendships fall apart – and some of them have absolutely no hope for the future.
People will lie about anything
You’d think that people on reality TV shows would be a little more careful about the lies they tell. After all, the show is going to air eventually, and they’ll be held accountable for everything they’ve said. Still, that never stops anyone, and The Real Housewives of Orange County are no exception. This season, Vicki Gunvalson’s boyfriend, Brook Ayers, found himself under continued scrutiny as some of the women on the show were convinced that he was lying about cancer. Of course, Vicki jumped to his defense, and some of them believed that she was a part of the lie as well. Seriously, who lies about cancer?!
The more drama the better
As with any reality TV show, The Real Housewives of Orange County is full of drama. In fact, the ratings almost solely depend on how much drama the cast members can cook up, and this season, the women made sure to keep things juicy. Between Shannon Beador’s marital issues, Vicki and Brook’s cancer story, and Tamra being Tamra, there was more than enough drama to go around.
Vicki and Tamra will probably never be friends
Over the course of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Barney have had a very turbulent friendship. After several fallings-out, the former BFFs have tried and tried to repair their friendship – but it looks like things are finally over. On her blog, Tamra stated, “I have decided to cut Vicki from my life. I just can’t do this anymore, it’s emotionally exhausting and I don’t trust her. All I wanted was to be there for her and everyone in my life warned me (even my husband) that Vicki is out for one person and one person only and that is…VICKI GUNVALSON!”
Tamra loves Jesus
During season 10, Tamra chose to let go of some of the drama and accept Jesus into her life. Deciding to get baptized in front of all of her friends was a big choice for the reality star, but as you can imagine (or already know if you saw the show) her baptism couldn’t be completely drama free. After the ceremony, Vicki and Shannon had an intense show down regarding who spilled the beans about Shannon’s marital problems.
These women will stop at nothing to prove each other wrong
Once these ladies decide that they are no longer friends with someone, they will stop at nothing to prove each other wrong. Seriously, it’s like they can’t just know or believe someone is wrong and leave it at that – they have to try to convince everyone else as well. When Shannon decided that she was done buying the story about Brooks’ cancer, she decided to go look for proof. According to sources, Shannon went as far as visiting a clinic where Brooks claimed to have gotten a PET scan, and had a scan for herself. She then took a copy of her results and compared it with Brooks and noticed some glaring differences which in her mind, proved without a doubt that he was lying. Yeah, she needs to get a job.
Tamra’s son still can’t take care of himself
Since the beginning of the show, Tamra’s oldest son, Ryan, has been an interesting character. He started off as somewhat of a troubled teen who couldn’t get along with Tamra’s then husband, Simon, and as the seasons went on it became very clear that he just wasn’t ever going to grow up. Although he’s been kind of out of the picture, it looks like he’s still hanging on to his mother’s coat tails. This season, Tamra revealed to everyone (including her husband) that she was still supporting Ryan financially.
Nothing is off-limits during a cat fight
Once the claws come out, nothing and no one is safe from being called out or used to win an argument. Time and time again, these women made that very clear this season. Even when you think two people have each other’s backs – you never know what is going to come flying out of someone’s mouth when they get caught up in the moment.
Heather has lightened up a bit
Out of all of the women on The Real Housewives of Orange County, Heather Dubrow has proven to be the most buttoned up. Heather just has a way of making everyone else feel like they’re idiots, and it was starting to seem like she secretly took pride in shutting people down. However, this season, Heather has seemed to be a little less obnoxious, and she says it’s because being a part of the show took some getting used to.
Everything in the O.C. isn’t as nice as it seems!
This season, they’ve done it again. Any stereotype you’ve had about the O.C. and the people who live there was probably shattered again this year when the women proved that, well, you can’t buy class.
